For many longtime racers, the Grandman is a testament to the charm of this unique corner of the Gulf Coast, with its laconic view of Mobile Bay and serpentine streets canopied with live oaks. “I like the area of Fairhope and the hospitality that’s put on by everyone living here, and it’s a great cause,” said Dwight Ward in 2021, who’s raced the Grandman five or six times.
