OWN ONE OF THE EARLIEST MUSTANGS EVER PRODUCED! Our gorgeous red over red 1965 Mustang ragtop is now available! It is the 5522nd Mustang produced EVER, making it one of the earliest Mustangs left of the more than 10 MILLION made. Its March 1964 production makes it commonly called a "1964.5" Mustang, and it's "D" code 289 4bbl engine in a red on red convertible makes it a VERY rare example overall.

As with all of our classics, this one is in fantastic mechanical and cosmetic condition, and drives every bit as good as it looks. Lots of receipts for work done, plus we took care of a couple of other niggling items so you won't have to. This car is TOTALLY original, including the generator (vs later alternators), quarter panels, single exhaust, and more. For someone who desires originality, great colors, and historically early production, you won't do better than this.

Give us a call to arrange a personal inspection. We don't anticipate this one will last long, so don't delay. Fall cruising days are almost here!

ROLLIN' IN MY SIX-FO! (Chapter 2)

Well, I pulled the Impala out of its long-term place of concrete slumber yesterday, and amazingly, it went rather smoothly. The seller, "Rob" and his wife were happy to get the garage space back, and I was able to score a reasonable stash of both original parts and pieces from the car as well as some new bits. Rob, bless his heart, even snuck in an extra snow tire and a Buick tail light into the trunk for me. đŸ˜† Tonight, it's heading an hour west to Hensen Automotive where it will be put in the automotive intensive care unit and hopefully made to start making noises very soon. We will drain and clean the fuel system, change engine, trans, and differential oils, go over the entire brake system, and then fire this puppy up!

So I promised to explain why I decided to take on this particular project. The last 4 pictures in this post give it away. This car is literally a frame-off restoration that is 85% completed. I even found color print outs of pictures of the car with the body and frame separated showing the completeness of the restoration in progress. The engine bay is similarly finished (including complete rebuilds of both the engine AND transmission!), and on top of all of that, this car is incredibly solid and rust-free. Let me tell you (as if you don't already know), having all of that heavy lifting completed and done right is a HUGE time saver, money saver, and frustration saver. It allows you to always keep the finish line within sight, and that is a huge motivator when taking on any project of this magnitude. Untold numbers of cars, projects, dreams, and good intentions have gone unfinished and unfulfilled because of the long, hard slog a full restoration can be.

Stay tuned. As we start getting the mechanicals sorted, I'll write the next chapter of this American icon's resurgence and give you a full update.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for a high quality classic, give us a call. We don't have bunches of them, but what we do have is far nicer, and less trouble and long-term expense than almost anything else offered by those "other guys."

ROLLIN' IN MY SIX-FO! (Chapter 1)

KC Classic Cars is well known for our super nice, high quality "first to see/first to buy" vintage rides and unmatched personalized customer service, so it's a rare treat for us to find a "project" car that also meets our standards, but that's exactly what we have in this awesome 1964 CHEVROLET IMPALA we've just acquired. And in the next post (chapter), we'll tell you exactly why we feel that way.

Found in the Liberty, MO area, this car has been off the road for the past 10+ years, neatly tucked into the suburban garage of its 87-year old previous owner, who felt it was time to let someone else run this car's final mile to its restoration finish line. The seller (we'll call him 'Ron') has owned this car since 1993, and after talking extensively with him, we're confident the car has been in good hands. He's done an impressive amount of work on what was an extremely clean, unmolested car to begin with, and these were primary reasons for us taking it on.

Painted in the rarely seen color of "Lagoon Aqua Poly," the Impala also boasts an arresting aqua colored interior. With the white painted top providing just the right amount of contrast, Impala enthusiasts will appreciate seeing one that isn't the standard red, white, or black. And for those wondering, no, it is not a Super Sport model (more of those exist today than were ever built new!), and we intend to keep it that way, feeling the car will have more value to its ultimate owner staying true to its origins.

We definitely have our work cut out for us, but with a little help from Nate at Henson Automotive, we hope its mechanical needs are few and manageable, as the car appears to be a frame-off restoration that just got stalled before it could be completed. Here are a few teaser pics from where we discovered it, with more pics and details to come. Stay tuned, and be sure to leave your questions and comments below!

THIS IS WHAT WE MEAN WHEN WE TALK ABOUT VALUE: I want you to check out the 1972 Mach 1 Mustang at the link below, and then compare that car to the gorgeous and correct Medium Bright Yellow one we have on offer. Here's the link:

https://tinyurl.com/4d3m8p6e

For $15,000, you get a completely trashed Mach 1 that needs literally everything, and we haven't even seen the condition of the underside of the car. It needs body work, paint, all new trim, new wheels, tires, all new interior, suspension, engine and trans rebuild, and on and on AND ON! It will be a never-ending money pit you'll have the pleasure of buying for $15,000, and then spending another $50,000 and 3 years making right before you can even drive it.

Or, you can have this gorgeous, reliable, and attention-grabbing '73 Mach 1 with gorgeous paint, a clean straight body, a built 351 V8 that runs and drives great, and a clean interior, and much more for $29,900.

This is what we mean when we say it's ALWAYS better AND cheaper to buy your classics done and ready to enjoy. You save mountains of money, eons of time, and virtually limitless frustration vs buying the red one above and "starting from scratch."

Call us to come check out the value our Mach 1 represents. We know you'll see the same thing that we do.
