I’d like everyone that reads this to read the whole thing.
As many of you know, I Own and Operate Evart Towing & Recovery. I started right around this time last year. Since I started, I have heard that my bills are too high, too low, or “way cheaper than everyone else”, well yesterday I had a first. A customer said to me “jeez I thought you were the cheapest around” and I had to think about that. I’ve spoken with some of the largest towing companies in the state, right down to some of the smallest about the rates we charge. We all agree that some are too high and some are definitely too low. What it comes down to is am I going to pay the licensed and insured towing company to safely and properly tow my vehicle, or will I pay 50 bucks for a guy with a pickup and a trailer to attempt to haul my vehicle without damaging anything. Or will I pay the 150 winchout fee to get my car out of the ditch slowly and carefully, or just rip it out with a tow strap and whatever happens happens. When you call or get sent a tow truck, you are paying for peace of mind that an insured professional is doing the job. It’s because of this, and the cost of diesel, insurance, parts, and equipment that Evart Towing will be raising our rates in the near future. We all have our opinions, good and bad about rates of towing companies, I will do my best to keep pricing as competitive as possible but I will not sell myself or my business short.
I’ll be releasing a post shortly with the average cost of new and used tow trucks, and further costs of insurance and maintenance costs.
