Getting clipped in a parking lot is frustrating. Finding damage on a vehicle you have kept on the road for years makes it even worse.

That is what happened to Jeff’s 2012 Chrysler 200 when someone hit the front bumper.

After the repair, Jeff wrote:

Before the work moves forward, the team has to look at the vehicle, talk through what they are seeing, and determine how the repair should be approached. That can mean identifying damage, researching repair procedures, considering parts, and deciding what needs to happen next.

A collision repair can pass through several hands. Good repair planning helps make sure those hands are working from the same information. 📋

Getting a truck in the air changes what the technician can see. 🔧

A collision can affect areas that are hard to inspect from the floor, including mounting points, suspension components, and damage underneath the vehicle. Raising it gives the team better access to check the repair area and handle the work safely.

The technician works the metal in stages, checking the area around the wheel opening and the upper rail as the shape comes back. A few inches of damaged panel can keep someone busy for quite a while.
