Got a call this morning for a tow way up yonder on the Chattahoochee around the river bend area. The dispatcher reported that they were missing their lower unit and they had hit something and were slowly going back up river on the trolling motor. Got to the reported position to run up on a what appeared to be some kind of partially submerged dock about 25-30 ft long. Kept going up and found the boat. Got him back on the trailer took some pictures and headed back south to find the submerged timbers. The person who hit this is very lucky that he was not hurt very badly. Had I not been up off the water in the TowBoat I would have hit it too. I saw it at the last second. He said he never saw what he hit. Got it towed out of the river channel and tied up to a tree so no one else will be in danger of hitting it!
