TR690 UPDATE
We’ve been working on this project for almost 2 years, and we’re finally getting close.
We’ve also been getting a lot of questions about why the TR690 transmission pan is going to be so expensive compared to our TR580 pan.
This photo helps put it into perspective.
The TR690 pan starts as a massive chunk of aluminum that is nearly 3X the size of the material used for our TR580 pans. It also takes more than 3X the machine time to mill that raw material down into the finished product.
These aren’t cast or stamped pans. Each one starts as a solid piece of aluminum and gets machined down into the final part. Between the amount of material, machining time, tooling, and development that goes into each one, there’s a lot more involved than what you see once the finished pan is installed.
It’s been a long road getting this one right, but we’re getting close.
More updates coming soon.
