Sorry guys, I know I haven't posted anything in a while, I've just been really busy but here's a small video of what I've been up too lol. And for those who don't know I'm in the process of installing my DART NEXT LS 455cid tall deck with the new 10L90E transmission! Fast LSXRT cathedral port intake runner Before and after pics, the biggest problem with the Fast LSXRT cathedral port intake is that no one offers any different size runner lengths for them so we took matters into our on heads by cutting them down to 7.5" then plastic welded them together. The first advantage of shortening the intake runner length is to get the velocity stack away from the intake manifold wall is to increase airflow capability and decrease intake runner vacuum due to the proximity of the intake manifold wall location, most LS engines will benefit from this but not as much as the big LS stroker engines that are 400+cid! By simply shorting the intake runner 1.5" this will put the velocity stack right in the open view of the 102mm throttle body there for increasing the airflow capability tremendously allowing for the bigger cid engines to run more efficiently in the mid to higher RPM ranges without the need to overcompensate with more lift or duration. This is just one reason most cathedral port LS stroker engines using the Fast LSXRT intake manifold runner out of RPM range so soon. The second advantage is to cut and remove the support on the front bottom intake runner this will increase airflow by allowing it to flow more freely underneath the front intake runner so the air can reach the other velocity stacks more efficiently. The end result is a more efficient intake manifold setup that's better suited for my LS tall deck 455cid engine without having to sacrifice any more money by purchasing another intake manifold that might be end up being metal or not suited for the setup that I'm running. It just goes to show you with a little bit of work and determination you can still have fun while you increase your engine performance and save yourself money, if this is something that your interested in learning how to do just let me know and I might make a video the next time I'm doing a set.
