Xpress Interior Cleaner: The Gold Standard for Interior Cleaning
Few interior cleaners earn the kind of loyalty that Xpress Interior Cleaner has achieved over the years. How Xpress Interior Cleaner Came to Be
In the late 1990s, the car wash industry was rapidly embracing what were known as “Express Services.” These quick, simplified detail offerings like Express Wax, Express Clay Decontamination, and Interior Super Clean were designed to give customers visible results without the time or cost of a full detail. Interior Super Clean, in particular, was in high demand.
At the time, many operators were creating their own interior cleaners by diluting harsh general-purpose cleaners, sometimes as much as 10:1, and using them on leather and interior surfaces. While this approach seemed economical, it came with serious downsides. These products often had the wrong pH for leather, stripped interior surfaces, left them dry or streaked, and produced strong chemical odors that technicians disliked working with every day.
Meanwhile, P&S already had an outstanding product on the market: Leather Cleaner Concentrate. Introduced in quarts in the early ’90s, it was a spectacular formula but it wasn’t gaining traction in its existing format.
That’s when the Phillips brothers saw an opportunity - to this day it is one of our favorite products we have ever brought to market!
Rather than force a general-purpose cleaner into a role it wasn’t designed for, they chose a smarter path. They took the Leather Cleaner Concentrate and re-engineered it specifically for the express car wash environment, modifying the formulation to create a cleaner that was safe, effective, fast-working, and pleasant to use without compromising interior materials.
In 1998, Xpress Interior Cleaner was officially launched, giving car wash operators a purpose-built solution for express interior services and setting a new standard for interior cleaning in the process. Come a shop with is today!
