Fantastic Friday! This 1966 Dodge Coronet was originally a 273 V8, and came off the assembly line in St. Louis, Missouri. Now, it's a race car and will have an 800 hp engine installed! We were tasked with welding up the 52 holes that housed the trim clips, and fabricating new partial wheel openings for left and right rear for bigger racing tires. After laborious hours of block sanding, then epoxy primer, it went to the paint booth this week. We used an all over speciality 2 stage paint for the four coats of color, and four coats of Euroclear, then baked for several hours. Next is water sanding and polishing and then it will go home with the owner next week. We KNOW it will be faster going down the track!

Front End Friday takes on a brand new meaning this week! This 1967 Mustang convertible came to us for a complete color change and additional body repairs. After multiple coats of this beautiful glossy black, followed by multiple coats of Euro clear, water sanding and polishing, the car is ready for pick up! It will be heading home to the Traverse City area early next week and will be an eye catcher!

It's Fabrication Friday! This 1966 Dodge Coronet race car is undergoing some fabrication on the rear, lower quarter panels on both sides. What the photo doesn't show is a slight curvature on the panel that had to be created by hand from the proper gauge steel. This is old school body work at its best! Stay tuned as this car gets finished up and heads to the paint booth!
