A slide hammer is an essential tool for every PDR technician.
Here are a few quick adjustments and habits to make your slide hammer more efficient and safer to use:
Secure Your Threads: If you're running a cold glue setup, wrap the section where the glue tabs screw on with a bit of tape to keep them tight and prevent them from backing loose mid-pull.
Protect Your Cold Glue: Use a small silicone container to store and seal your cold glue tabs when they're not in use to keep them clean and ready to go.

Local body shop sent us this Jeep Wrangler aluminum door.

This week at the shop, we accidentally stumbled into a “Bluey” theme! 🚙💙 It seemed like almost every vehicle that rolled through our doors was a matching shade of blue, and the trend just kept going.

Subaru Outback vs. Electric Bike 💥🚲
This parked Subaru Outback got hit by an e-bike, leaving a pretty big dent in the passenger rear door.
We fixed it right up using Paintless Dent Repair (PDR), which is great because it completely saves the original factory paint. The bottom plastic trim piece broke off in the accident, but luckily it was just held on by clips and double-sided tape, so we easily swapped it out for a new one.
We took our time with this one—about three days—to make absolutely sure the repair met our high standards. The owner was thrilled we could work around his schedule, and we had a great time chatting and learning a bit more about his hometown of Tarrytown!

Ever wonder how we fix dents without having to repaint your car? It all comes down to Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) and some highly specialized tools.
To safely reshape a vehicle’s body panels, we use a variety of different materials. Today, we wanted to give you a behind-the-scenes look at one of our favorites: the Blending Hammer.
This specific hammer has two distinct tips on each end. One side features a rounded copper piece, which is a softer metal that's gentle on your car. The other side has a highly polished, fine titanium tip for pinpoint accuracy.
So, what does it actually do? We use the blending hammer to make incredibly subtle, gentle taps on the metal. This precise tapping process allows us to massage the panel back into its original shape while perfectly matching your car’s factory paint texture. For a blending hammer to do its job right, it needs to be incredibly lightweight, have perfectly clean striking surfaces, and offer absolute precision.
This is just one of the many specialized PDR tools we use in the shop every day to bring vehicles back to life!
