I welcomed this 2016 Toyota RAV4 Limited Hybrid back to 10-8 Hand Washing and Detailing for another interior detail, and it’s a great example of how regular care can keep a 10-year-old vehicle looking fresh. I had to smile when I spotted vacuum patterns still visible from my last detail almost a year ago. Always good to see some of my handiwork holding up! 😎 There was some dog hair and a few spilled coffee stains to tackle this time around, but I got those dispatched and gave the cabin the attention it deserved. With clean seats, refreshed carpeting, and a fresh set of vacuum lines, this Toyota’s interior was looking good as new again. Thank you for trusting me with your RAV4 once again. 🚨 10-8 WINTER DETAILING SCHEDULE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

As we head into another Chicago winter, I want to let all my 10-8 customers know about a seasonal change to my detailing schedule. Beginning November 1st through March 1st, I’ll be concentrating on interior detailing Monday through Friday, with exterior detailing available when the forecasted temperature is above 40°F.

Anyone who knows me knows that I take a lot of pride in the work that comes out of the 10-8 garage. Between freezing temperatures, unpredictable Chicago weather, and the sun disappearing before the workday is over, winter presents some challenges when it comes to exterior detailing. I’m not interested in racing against the clock, fighting the elements, or delivering a substandard detail just to get another vehicle out the door.

My philosophy has always been simple. If I’m going to put my name on it, it’s going to be done right. I’d rather adjust my schedule to accommodate the weather than compromise the quality my customers have come to expect.

Interior detailing will continue throughout the winter, and I’ll gladly schedule exterior work whenever Mother Nature decides to cooperate!

This 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon came into the 10-8 garage after an Elmhurst family’s carsick puppy left the contents of his stomach all over the back seats. I’d be lying if I said this one was easy, but as a dog owner myself, I understood the situation and was more than ready to tackle the job. I usually work my way from front to back when detailing a cabin, but today I went straight to where the puppy had been riding. Enzyme spray, a brush, and my heated carpet extractor were the main players as I worked through the mess and gave those back seats some much-needed attention. Once that was handled, I cleaned and wiped down the rest of the cabin, then finished with a 45-minute odor treatment. It took some patience and elbow grease, but this family’s Jeep was fresh, clean, and ready for the road again. Hopefully, the puppy’s next ride is a little easier on his stomach! No more odor. No more mess. 10-8!

The car guy in me had a hard time getting to work on this one! This 2020 Subaru WRX STI Limited in Rally Blue came into 10-8 Hand Washing and Detailing for a complete interior and exterior detail, and I loved everything about it. I detailed another family vehicle for this customer a couple months ago, and we became instant friends over our shared love of cars. He finally brought his STI over for the 10-8 treatment, and between the fit and finish, the trim, those red seat belts, and the Recaro seats with Alcantara, I almost forgot I was supposed to be detailing it instead of admiring it. Eventually, I got back to business. The wheels had some heavy brake dust buildup that needed attention, the door jambs needed a thorough cleaning, and that Subaru pile carpeting had to be wrestled into submission. It put up a fight, but I wasn’t letting it win. With the exterior cleaned up and that Rally Blue shining again, plus an interior reset worthy of those seats, the results speak for themselves. Always a pleasure taking care of another car guy’s pride and joy. This STI is 10-8!

There’s nothing better than earning a new customer’s trust before I even pick up a wash mitt! This 2021 Honda Passport Elite belongs to a first-time customer and fellow Elmhurst resident who found 10-8 Hand Washing and Detailing right here on Facebook. She told me she was impressed by all the positive reviews, and that’s what convinced her to reach out. To everyone who has taken the time to share their experience, thank you! This Honda had never been detailed since she bought it new, but considering that, it was in pretty good shape. Still, everyday driving leaves its mark, and I got to work giving it the interior and exterior attention it deserved. From the leather seats, dashboard, and console to the floor mats, door sills, and cargo area, I worked through the dirt and buildup to bring back that clean, cared-for look. Outside, the bright white paint, clean wheels, and freshly dressed tires brought the whole package together.

I had the pleasure of welcoming back a fellow First Responder, this time with his 2023 Lexus 300h Premium. I ceramic coated his Chevy Suburban back in 2024, and I appreciate him trusting me with another vehicle.

This Lexus received the full preparation process—a decontamination wash, clay bar treatment, iron decontamination, and paint correction—to get the finish ready for its coating. The prep is where the time and attention to detail really count, bringing out the paint’s clarity and shine before locking in the results.

Once everything was ready, I applied Undrdog Marine coating to the paint, plastics, and windshield for added protection and easier maintenance. It’s always a privilege to take care of those who serve our communities, and earning their repeat business makes it even better. Another First Responder vehicle is 10-8!

Every three months like clockwork, this 2022 Chevy Trax LT makes its way back to the 10-8 garage, and I’m always happy to see the wonderful customer behind the wheel. She’s one of the nicest people I have the pleasure of working with, and even though her Trax doesn’t get driven very often, she likes keeping it clean and looking its best. I gave the exterior a thorough soft water wash, followed by a ceramic sealant to boost that shine and add protection until her next visit. Inside, I refreshed and reset the cabin to bring everything back to showroom ready. I truly appreciate her continued trust and the opportunity to care for her car throughout the year. Looking forward to seeing her again in three months. This Chevy Trax is 10-8!

Ron Burgundy is back in the 10-8 garage! This 2024 Mercedes-Benz S63 E Performance belongs to a returning Elmhurst customer, and when I detailed it about six months ago, that nickname just fit. From the looks of things today, Mr. Burgundy hasn’t had a detail since. There was dirt EVERYWHERE, and plenty of it. The wheels were brown with brake dust, the door jambs were absolutely cooked, and the rocker panels looked like this luxury sedan had been four-wheeling in Baja. I had to bring out the heavy-duty chemicals and wheel acid to get those wheels back in line, along with my special voodoo sauce to handle the door jambs. Mr. Burgundy needed some tough love, and I was happy to oblige.

The interior was a much more straightforward job. My vacuum lines from the last visit were still hiding under the floor mats, which gave me a little satisfaction before I got to work refreshing everything inside. Three hours later, this Mercedes was looking like it belonged outside a five-star hotel again, and I finished in time to catch the opening kickoff of the Bears’ Thursday night game. Clean car, happy returning customer, and football on the clock. Let’s go, Bears! Mr. Burgundy is officially 10-8!
