RV batteries support many of the systems you rely on while camping, but a battery can still show signs of power while struggling to hold a charge or perform properly under demand.

Here, Anthony is testing an RV’s battery and electrical system to evaluate its performance and help identify the source of a power-related issue.

Because similar symptoms can come from the battery, charging system, connections, converter, or another electrical component, proper testing is important before replacing parts unnecessarily.

Think about how many times you use your RV faucet during a camping trip.

Morning coffee.

🚐 If you could take your RV anywhere... where would you go?

We were talking about this the other day, and our answers couldn't be more different.

🏔️ Anthony's dream trip:
A month-long adventure through North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming. He wants to take his time, explore the back roads, visit the national parks, and enjoy as many campfires as possible along the way.

🌄 Katherine's dream trip:
I've never seen the Grand Canyon, and it's at the top of my bucket list. I'd love to take a slow trip out west, stopping at beautiful campgrounds, small towns, and scenic places along the way instead of rushing from one destination to the next.

🧊 Is your RV freezer cold, but the refrigerator section still feels warm?

That can be especially confusing because it seems like the refrigerator is working, just not where you need it to.

In this Everchill 12-volt refrigerator, Anthony found a significant wall of ice around the cooling area. Since the refrigerator relies on airflow to move cold air from the freezer into the fresh-food compartment, heavy ice buildup can interfere with that circulation.

The next step is to completely defrost the refrigerator and continue checking the fans, thermistors, and other components to make sure there is not another issue contributing to the problem.

The important lesson: a cold freezer does not always mean the entire refrigerator is operating correctly.

😤 Some RV repairs test your skills. Others test your patience.

This rear running light was full of water and needed to come out, but it clearly wasn’t interested in cooperating.

What looks like a quick, simple repair can sometimes become one of the most tedious parts of the entire job. Tight spaces, stubborn components, old sealant, and years of exposure can turn a few minutes of work into a real battle.

And yes, even an experienced RV technician gets frustrated sometimes. 😂

But Anthony stays with it until the problem is handled correctly, because forcing it, rushing it, or taking shortcuts can create even more damage.

One of the biggest misconceptions we see is that if an awning stops working, the entire assembly has to be replaced.

Sometimes, that's true.

But other times, the problem is isolated to a single component.

On this service call, Anthony replaced the awning motor, restoring the awning without replacing the complete unit.

That's why proper diagnosis matters.

Replacing only what's actually failed can often save RV owners both time and money.
