Don’t bake it, and ditch the dish soap myths! 🧼❌ Here is what Polaris actually recommends for a proper PVT belt break-in:
Standard Break-In: Drive at slower speeds for the first 50 miles (80 km), constantly varying your speed and engine RPM rather than holding steady throttle. Avoid aggressive, rapid acceleration, high speeds, and heavy loads.
Sand or Dune Riding: Drive exclusively in low gear for the first 5 miles (8 km) if you’re in sand, mud, or heavy load conditions, avoiding prolonged low-speed operation at high throttle.
Best Practices: Wipe down your aluminum clutch sheaves with isopropyl alcohol before installation, and let the belt go through full heat cycles to seat properly against the clutch faces.
Treat your belt right so it lasts when you’re out on the trail! 🛠️🔥
