After a two (2) year delay, the annual magic flea market (for the 36th time) is on for May 11TH at the Diplomat West as previous planned.

After the January Mazda meeting, I got to thinking about themes for February. After talking with Brian, here is the plan.

February is the month of George Washington's birthday. George Washington, erroneously known for saying, "I cannot tell a lie." I got to thinking that we magicians feign total honesty and innocence even as we lie to our audience. And they KNOW that we are doing it. Weird, right? But it is just part of what is expected.

Deception plays a major role in the art of magic. We even admit it up front. The February meeting will be about Magic and the Art of Deception. And lying. And Magic. We will discuss the strange mix of truth and deception in our art and our performances.

I plan to share at least a couple of links for those who want to think about it ahead. Closer to the meeting date, either Brian or I will post the links to the online meeting.
