Huge shoutout to Eran over at ShowMe Mobile Blasting for knocking it out of the park on the Disciples’ bones.

If you’re in Missouri and need blasting work done on motorcycle parts, trailers, automotive projects, equipment or just about anything else that needs stripped down and prepped properly, give Eran a call. Good work is getting harder to find these days and when you find someone who takes pride in what they do, it’s worth spreading the word.

The Disciple is officially down to bare bones now. The teardown continues and the rebuild is about to get real.

⚡️The Blackburne V-twin engine stands out as one of the most impactful proprietary motorcycle engines of the early 20th century.

⚡️It powered a diverse range of British and European motorcycles, in addition to the iconic Morgan Three-Wheeler. Produced by Blackburne Engines Ltd. based in Bookham England, these engines garnered a reputation for dependability, robust performance and superior engineering throughout the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s.

⚡️Blackburne engines were supplied to numerous notable motorcycle manufacturers, including Coventry-Eagle, Cotton, Excelsior, Zenith and OK-Supreme, cementing Blackburne's status as a leading British independent engine builder.

✊🏼Update: The Disciple is currently experiencing a controlled demolition. Rear end gone. Oil drained. Wiring pulled. Gas tank and carb removed. Next up is the oil bag, engine and front end.

✊🏼At this rate, there won’t be much left but a VIN number and hurt feelings. Frame, oil bag, rear fender and tank are headed to the sand blaster next week.

🤔 To tear it down or not tear it down… that is the question.

🔧 When I built The Disciple, for years, I had this idea stuck in my head that I wanted to clear coat bare metal. The problem is, I already knew better. Every bit of painting knowledge and experience I had told me it wasn’t the right move for longevity.

🔧 I went against my own better judgment anyway. And honestly, I’m glad I did. Not because it was the best decision, but because now I can say I’ve done it. Sometimes an idea gets lodged in your head and the only way to get rid of it is to see it through. I scratched that itch, learned what I needed to learn and now I have no desire to do it again.

🔧 Which brings me to The Disciple.

🔧 I think it’s time. Not for a touch-up. Not for a few changes here and there. I think it’s time to tear it all the way down into a pile of parts and rebuild it from the ground up.

🔧 I’ve got the whole thing roadmapped in my head already. The paint. The design. The stance. The details. All the little things I obsess over that most people will never notice but make all the difference to me.

🔧 The current version of The Disciple has served its purpose. Now it’s time for it to become what it was always meant to be. Stay tuned. The Disciple is about to step into its true calling.
