This is the first EV Fire Blanket video that I actually agree with most of the comments. These blankets are dangerous and should not be used unless you understand what is happening underneath and you have been trained on how to read the situation. Public Announcement

Work began on Monday Feb. 16 on the US 281 Spur Bridge over Hwy. I-40 at the Geary exit 108. Traffic is not expected to be impacted during the initial phase of the project, drivers should expect congestion in the work zone as work progresses.

⚠️ Highway 81 is CLOSED north of Union City between SW 59th St. and SW 44th St. due to a power line down across the roadway.

🚓🚒 Emergency units are positioned at both intersections to assist and guide traffic.

➡️ Please plan to detour approximately one mile around the closure.

🚫 Do not attempt to drive around barricades.
Thank you for your patience as crews work to resolve the issue and keep everyone safe.

UPDATE: I-40, East bound is now open to one lane while crews continue to cleanup and remove the vehicles from this incident.

UPDATE: I-40, West bound is now back open at Exit # 108 (Cherokee Trading Post / Geary). However, I-40, East bound remains closed at this time for investigations. We are working diligently to get at least one lane open. Continue to use caution while driving through this area as there are still lots of boots on the ground working this incident scene.

This is why we ask people to “Slow Down and Move Over” for Wreckers, Police, Fire, EMS, DOT, and anyone else who is out trying to get the public safe and traffic moving on the roadways. This has a whole new light after loosing one of our own Officers last week. This is the gun range that we all work in and these bullets (car and trucks passing by) do not play when they hit you.
