Collision repair M&A hit its lowest first-half total in three years even as the widest buyer field on record competed for deals, according to Focus Advisors' 2026 mid-year review. Excluding Gerber's acquisition of Joe Hudson's, the Big Four, Established Consolidators and New Entrant platforms added just 81 locations combined, down from more than 300 in the first half of 2024.

A fire rainbow, or circumhorizontal arc, was photographed over West Virginia, showcasing one of the atmosphere's rarest optical displays. The phenomenon occurs when sunlight passes through horizontally aligned, hexagonal ice crystals in high-altitude cirrus clouds, refracting light into vivid bands of color. Fire rainbows can only form when the sun is at least 58 degrees above the horizon.
