Thank you everyone for the kind words, we were happy to help.
Appreciation Post: Our agency was made aware of a Facebook post involving one of our officers and we didn’t want to pass up an opportunity to share! January 23, 2026, Officer Bullock with the Village of East Troy Police Department was dispatched to the area of Kwik Trip for a vehicle in the ditch.
Upon arrival, Officer Bullock learned the mother was with her young children visiting from out of state. The vehicle did not have working heat so they planned to stop at Kwik Trip to warm up prior to sliding off the roadway. With no means to pay for a tow, Officer Bullock offered to personally pay to have the vehicle removed from the ditch.
When Mark Rhode, of Rhode's Towing Repair & Sales arrived, he heard the story and declined to take payment, offering his services free of charge. We cant think of a better example of small town community effort working together for someone in need. East Troy is truly made up of amazing people. And thank you to the bystander who saw this kind act and felt the world needed to hear your story.
