🚧 Just because it's a flex line doesn't mean it should be bent like a pretzel.

This video below shows a dispenser sump where petroleum flex connectors have been subjected to excessive bending and stress.

Flex connectors are designed to accommodate movement—not compensate for poor installation practices. Exceeding the recommended bend radius can place unnecessary strain on fittings and reduce long-term reliability.

A few extra minutes during installation can prevent years of maintenance headaches.

Big things are happening in East Hanover, NJ as we get ready to open the new Costco fueling station. This project has been a true collaboration between Betts Environmental Services Corporation, C 3 Technologies, and Island Pump & Tank, LLC all working together to help bring this site to completion. From fueling infrastructure and electrical integration to equipment installation and final site coordination, this project showcases the value of teamwork, communication, and ex*****on across multiple divisions. We’re proud of the crews and partners involved in helping bring another high-profile fueling location to the finish line safely and efficiently. Looking forward to seeing this site officially open this week and serving customers soon.

Fuel Filters Shouldn’t Be Filling Your UDC… But It Happens.

We’ve been seeing an uptick in a preventable issue across fuel sites: fuel filters leaking directly into the under-dispenser containment (UDC).

At first glance, it may seem minor—but left unchecked, this can lead to:
• Product loss
• Environmental exposure risks
• Failed inspections
• Costly cleanup and downtime

What’s causing it?
Most of the time, it comes down to a few key factors:
• Improper installation or over-tightening
• Worn or damaged gaskets/O-rings
• Poor-quality or incompatible filters
• Missed preventative maintenance

The fix is simple—but requires discipline:

✔ Proper install procedures
✔ Routine inspection of UDCs and filters
✔ Scheduled filter replacements
✔ Trained technicians who know what to look for

Keeping your site running clean, compliant, and online.
Because small leaks don’t stay small for long.

🔧 Cracked entry boots = big problems.

If you own or operate a fuel facility, your containment sump entry boots could be failing right now and you wouldn't even know it.
When boots crack — groundwater gets IN and petroleum gets OUT. 🚨

Here's what the law requires:
✅ Monthly visual inspections
✅ Hydrotest every 3 years
✅ Test after every repair or new install
