Here’s something to think about, and I hope you share this! Just imagine-
You fall and break your arm. You're not certain that it’s broken, but it’s swollen, twisted, and it’s definitely never pointed in that direction before. You’re in pain and you know you need to see a doctor.
Now imagine your health insurance company says, “Before you go to the ER, just download our free app and send us a few pictures of your arm. We’ll decide if it’s worth looking at.” Or better, yet- "We need you to bring it to our own in-house doctors, so we can determine how much we will pay for the surgical repair."
Crazy, right? No way you're gonna trust an insurance company doctor with your body. You would go to a hospital or clinic and see a doctor (who works for the hospital, not the ins.co.). You would rely on that doctor to diagnose, repair your body, and bill your ins. company.
Yet when an injury happens to our car, many of us throw this logic out the window- Instead of calling a doctor, or going to a car hospital (that's what we are), we call our insurance company. We ask them for advice as if they have some genuine interest in helping us, meanwhile, they will give us the advice that suits THEM the best by saving themselves as much money as possible. They will offer to pay you pennies on the dollar based on YOUR pics that you send them, or even worse, try to steer you into one of their hack shops that is under contractual agreement to fix cars as cheaply as possible. They go out of their way to short-change us and make it seem like they are just trying to make things convenient for us.
People always ask us- "How can they get away with that?" The answer is simple- You have the right to do otherwise. You see, the very law that allows you the freedom to pick your own shop, also allows your insurance company the right to operate their own shops, and try to get you to use them.
At our shop, we work for YOU, and just like your family doctor, we are only interested in your car's health, not saving the healthcare company money. What's even better is it doesn't matter what health care plan your car has....we accept them all! No matter who your ins. company is, we can do the repairs, and bill your ins. company for it. Period. No downloading apps, no sending pics. All you have to do is reach out to us, and we can take it from there.
Don't be so naive when it comes to your insurance company!
