I need to vent!
You should avoid Midas in Bridgewater at all costs!
Thankfully this person didn’t OK the ridiculously overpriced and recommend $7K of repairs.
For starters, they charged $171.99 to “misdiagnose” the original complaint of running rough and check engine light illuminated which would have resulted in $781.98 of unnecessary and overpriced parts and labor.
Then comes the upsell of other work also including ridiculously overpriced parts and labor.
I fixed the car for a fraction of the cost using genuine GM parts. They were going to charge $819.98 for lower control arms W/ball joints that cost $320 from the dealer and $349.99 for a valve cover that was $130 from the dealer and $168 for spark plugs that were $68 from the dealer.
Now, what really angers me is that this car desperately needed lower control arms/ball joints that were recommend. They were so bad they would have separated in short time and potentially resulted in a fatal accident. This car is driven by a young woman and they let it leave after rejecting the work with zero concern to warn against imminent danger or even have a waiver signed acknowledging a major safety concern that was declined to protect themselves. 🤷🏼♂️
