What was suppose to be a quick turn around cylinder reseal turned into a scramble to get things up and running asap. Stick cylinder in this machine had a drift. Found that the load check valve had broke, and sent debris into the cylinder where it scored the barrel beyond repair. Allison Power Systems was able to re barrel the stick cylinder fast and at a better value than the OEM supplier. A barrel from Liebherr had zero stock and a new cylinder was north of $20k and a month to month and a half out. Got this machine back online and back to work asap.

We tried something new on a machine that had coolant contamination in the hydraulic tank. Hence the pink colored oil in the sight glass….. How it got there is a story for another day. A product called Mechanic in a Bottle was shown to us by a good customer. We gave it a go on this machine. Essentially it takes the water droplets and breaks them down the smaller droplets. While we don’t recommend continuing to run the oil. It is a good tool for helping remove more water out of the hydraulic system than just flushing it over and over again. The clear oil in the sight glass was after treatment. Customer ran the machine for a shift, and then oil was dropped and filters changed. Oil is clear as new. With no condensation in the tank after weeks of operation. We consider this product to be an option for water logged hydraulic systems. Best course of action is to keep the water out to begin with
