We here at Duxbury Motorworks were informed yesterday, 05/14, that our landlord has sold the building we operate out of, and we must vacate. The new owner, Tony Issa, who I am sure is familiar to many of you from his work at Bennetts, wishes to begin operation here by June 1st. Although the suddenness of this situation leaves our immediate future uncertain, one thing is abundantly clear. Over the past 7+ years we have had the pleasure and honor to work for the best customers on the planet. We were welcomed into your community to do what it is that we do. Now we need to move on down the road, and find somewhere else to do it. From Ellen, Charlie, and myself, we love you all and appreciate the relationships that have been built here. So, this is farewell for now, but not good-bye.

Cars were seen as the “green” alternative of transportation in the early 20th century because horses were causing so much pollution with their p**p.

The deepest levels of our oceans are some of the least explored areas of the planet. Because of the extreme pressure, cold, and dark at these depths, only the very strangest of creatures can survive there. These include giant tube worms, vampire squids, goblin sharks, and viperfish with teeth so long that they can't close their mouths. Perhaps the strangest, though, is the barreleye, a large fish with a completely transparent head.

The original comic book Superman could leap tall buildings in a single bound. But then he had to come right back down to Earth—because he didn't fly. It wasn't until the 1940s, when animators for a new animated series decided it would be too difficult to routinely draw him bending his knees, that it was decided that Superman could take off into the air. Readers got to see smooth animation, and a superhero gained a new power.

The area now known as Duxbury was inhabited by people as early as 12,000 to 9,000 B.C. By the time European settlers arrived here, the region was inhabited by the Wampanoags, who called this place Mattakeesett, meaning "place of many fish."

As a small business owner in Duxbury, I am embarrassed to admit that I was mostly unaware of the Powder Point Bridge. Sure, I had heard of it but never embraced it. The other day, I was transporting a customer home and as luck would have it, she lives right next to it. Although it is closed for the moment it does not alter its beauty, or its history. This particular print by Tracy Ruckman is on the Powder Point Bridge Art Prints site. Can I get more suggestions of places in town that I will now make the time to go to? You know, all work and no play....TIA. 🙏
