Balance bike riders: come race with us at Durango BMX every Friday night this summer!

All balance bike riders receive a free USA BMX membership. Race five times at Durango BMX and be entered to win 1 of 10 micro mini pedal bikes during our Friday-night drawings, July 10–September 11.

Friday nights at Durango BMX
Registration + practice: 5:00–6:00 PM
Racing starts after practice and registration
Race fees: $5

Loaner balance bikes and helmets are available, and new riders are welcome. Just show up at registration to get started.

We’re excited to share a new coaching opportunity for Durango BMX riders and families this season!
withriley will host a community information meeting on June 23 for families who want to learn more about the upcoming coaching programs, ask questions, and discuss registration and next steps.

Programs begin June 30 and are designed to support steady rider development while keeping BMX fun.

Tomorrow is a big night at DGOBMX! We’re kicking off the 4th Annual Southwest Colorado Dirt Turn Cup,  and BMX Photo Night with Kelly Miranda Photography!

Friday, June 19 @ Durango BMX
Registration: 5:00–6:00 PM
Racing: ASAP after registration
Photo Night: 5:00–7:00 PM

Dirt Turn Cup teams are 4 riders. Teams are not required to race, but if you want in on the team competition, get your squad together and keep the same team for both days. Scoring will use USA BMX team sheets, so spreading riders across different classes is part of the strategy. Winner takes the cup.

Then we head to Cortez BMX on Saturday, June 20 for round two. Registration there is 5:30–6:00 PM, racing ASAP.

For Photo Night, all riders are welcome, racing or not. There is no cost to have your rider photographed, and photos will be available to view and order online within two weeks.

Parents, please come to the photo area with your rider to complete a form. You’ll need your rider’s name, your name, and your email address so you can access the photos afterward.

Have your rider come photo-ready! Bikes and helmets are welcome in the photo.

GROW THE GATE: BRING-A-FRIEND MONTH

All Friday nights in July, current Durango BMX riders can bring a friend who has never raced BMX before — and both riders race FREE!

Fridays in July 2026
Practice / Registration: 5:00–6:00 PM

After racing, each qualifying group will receive one $15 Zia Taqueria gift card.

No registration needed ahead of time. Just show up with a friend, get on the gate, and help us grow BMX in Durango. New rider must have never raced before and be eligible for a one day USABMX trial membership.

Whether you’re new to racing or looking to sharpen your skills, check out “Mean Machine” Wednesday clinics.

These sessions are designed to be fun, challenging, and welcoming for riders of all skill levels. The goal is to meet riders where they are in their BMX journey while helping them build stronger fundamentals, improve endurance, and develop the skills needed to be successful.

THE DIRT TURN CUP IS NEXT WEEKEND!
Start getting your teams together for an exiting weekend of racing. (Teams are not needed to race these races but just as an extra fun element to boost competitiveness) We are so excited to bring back the SWCO dirt turn cup for a 4th addition along with the Baxter’s and , an effort to encourage locals from both tracks to support eachother! Teams will be 4 riders and the winning team gets to take home the cup! Riders must stay on the same team both days! Scoring will use USABMX team sheets so having a team of riders in different classes will be the strategy for the most points! Will Durango based teams ‘the Durango Deathsquad’ make a return as the first ever champions? Are ‘The Desperate Bloodthirsty Starving Crazed Weasels’ gonna go for a two peat? Will a new team rise to the top and dethrone Durango? Will a Cortez squad take the top spot, will Barefoot Bikes show the bike-shop dominance? We will find out June 19th-20th!

Also go race in Cortez Monday! Registration 5:30-6pm!
