4 Cars Stolen During Hot Rod Power Tour
Four cars were reportedly stolen during Hot Rod Power Tour after thieves targeted vehicles parked at a hotel parking lot.

As someone who has spent decades building and restoring classic cars, this is every owner's nightmare. We spend years building these vehicles, but it only takes minutes for a thief to make one disappear.

Do you rely on a GPS tracker, hidden kill switch, steering wheel lock, cameras, or something else?

What's your #1 theft prevention tool?

Can a 100 Year Old Ford Model T Outflex a Jeep?
Most people assume modern Jeeps dominate anything off-road.

But before there were rock crawlers, lift kits, and long-travel suspensions, there was the Ford Model T.

This nearly 100-year-old Model T goes head-to-head with a Jeep in an articulation challenge, and the results surprise a lot of people.

Which one impressed you more?

Flow Coating The C10 Fenders
Most DIY painters never flow coat a panel.

After the first clear coat cures, I sand the surface flat and apply additional clear coat to build material and improve the final finish. Today it was the C10 fenders.

This is the finish straight out of the gun before any sanding, buffing, or polishing.

Some painters prefer to flow coat.
Others go straight to cut and buff.

Which one are you doing? ๐Ÿ‘‡

These Two Are Getting Married ๐Ÿ’
One of the biggest milestones of the build.

Today the cab finally met the Roadster Shop chassis for the first time. After months of planning, parts collecting, fabrication, paint work, and assembly, the project is finally starting to look like a truck again.

Builders have a name for this moment...

The Marriage.

Who else calls this "the marriage" during a build? ๐Ÿ‘‡

Three On The Tree: How It Works
The three-speed on the column, better known as the three-on-the-tree.

For decades, millions of Americans learned to drive with one of these. If you've heard the term but never saw one in action, here's how the shift pattern works in my 1972 Chevy C10.

Who learned to drive a three-on-the-tree? ๐Ÿ‘‡

Some projects are finished. Some are still becoming what they're meant to be.

The 1966 Impala sits polished and ready for the road while the C10 waits overhead for its next chapter. One represents where I've been. The other represents where I'm going.

Forty years in this trade and I still love walking into the shop and seeing old iron and new ideas sharing the same space.

What project are you working on right now?

WHY PAINT LIFTS, WRINKLES & FAILS
Most paint failures aren't caused by bad paint. They're caused by poor airflow, incorrect flash times, the wrong reducer, or stacking too much material too fast.

After more than 40 years in paint and body, I've seen the same mistakes over and over. In this video, I break down some of the most common causes of paint lifting, wrinkling, and other finish problemsโ€”and how to avoid them.

If you're a DIY painter and have questions, send me a DM. I'm always happy to help.

Have you ever had a paint job lift, wrinkle, or go wrong? What caused it?

Rotary vs DA Buffer: Why I Still Use Both
For years people have argued over rotary buffers and DA polishers like one completely replaced the other.

After more than 40 years in paint and body, I still use both.

A rotary cuts faster. A DA finishes cleaner. Knowing when to use each is more important than picking sides.

What buffer do you reach for firstโ€”Rotary or DA?

SS 427 | 4-Speed Through The Gears
A lot of us grew up when a driver's license meant learning a clutch pedal.

This 1966 Impala SS is powered by a 427 big block with dual quads, a 4-speed, and 4.11 gears.

No electronics.
No traction control.
Just rowing through the gears and listening to a big block sing.

Who learned to drive on a 4-speed?
