We recently performed a Post Repair Inspection (PRI) on a customer's vehicle that had been repaired at an insurance-approved "national body shop." What we found was shocking:

Our customer filed their right to appraisal, seeking the proper reimbursement for their repairs, and this was the result!

Over a hundred years ago, USAA's founders made a promise to always take care of their own. So why are they not fully paying for their members' auto body repairs?
In this case, a USAA member owned a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited with 74,397 miles. The vehicle was involved in a loss on January 14, 2026. After the repairs were completed, USAA short-paid the repair bill by $2,324.95.
We explained the appraisal clause process to the customer, and they retained Collision Safety Consultants to represent their interests.
We carefully reviewed and rewrote the final bill using the same labor rates and taxes. We followed Jeep's published position statements and reviewed all supporting invoices and repair photos to ensure the claim accurately reflected the repairs that were performed.
When the insurance company's independent appraiser contacted us, we worked collaboratively through the appraisal process and successfully negotiated a settlement of $2,140.14 for our customer.
This case serves as another reminder that consumers do not have to simply accept a short payment from their insurance company. When a policy contains an appraisal clause, it can be a powerful tool to resolve disputes and obtain a fair settlement.

RIP Officer Yeager.

Today, our department mourns the heartbreaking loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a call for service on May 29, 2026.

Officer Yeager served our community with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication. She answered the call to protect and serve each day, placing the safety of others above her own. Her commitment to her badge, her fellow officers, and the citizens she served will never be forgotten.

We ask that you keep Officer Yeager’s family, friends, and our entire law enforcement family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Officer Yeager. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of service and sacrifice will live on forever. We got it from here.

We have been a premier long time sponsor of the Monarch Fire Company golf tournament; helping with the organizing of it, our family and friends volunteering during it, along with actually volunteering our time with the fire department itself.

When you are choosing a body shop, make sure you are choosing one who is trying to look out for your well being & the quality of your vehicle after the repairs are completed.

These large national chains, and shops who are on the "insurance company approved programs" are most definitely NOT fixing your vehicle even close to properly.

Collision shops are liable for faulty repairs, making OEM parts and procedures paramount whether insurers want to pay for them or not.

Yesterday our crew assisted with removing a vehicle that went through a house. Recoveries like this are rare, but our crew has the experience to help remove the vehicle safely. With over 45 years of experience, is always here to assist.

We do have popcorn thunderstorms trying to merge into a small cluster as they move into parts of western Berks County as of 3:40 PM. These may be very heavy rain and frequent lightning producers. Any cell is capable of dropping hail and producing strong to potentially damaging wind gusts. Please be aware. And remember: what happens in a town nearby may not be what you end up seeing in your town. If you are concerned about hail, please avoid any direct path into/through any passing storm just in case. I know that some of these cells may be very neat to look at and photograph though! (3:40 PM)
