Michigan is the global epicenter of the automotive industry and we are proud to be a part of its rich heritage and progressive future. It is the pillar of our communities; our heritage, our legacy and our future. We are not changing with the times, we are changing the times; we are creating change. Every day we are developing new technologies, avant-guard concepts and hip designs that improve safety, protect the environment, increase performance and enhance consumer lifestyles. The MichAuto team joins the automotive industry in mourning the passing of Neil DeKoker. Read a statement from Executive Director Glenn Stevens Jr.:

"Neil was first and foremost a family man. His love for and dedication to his family defined who he was. Beyond that, he dedicated his life's work to the automotive industry, and he represented the very best of it.

Over the course of his career, Neil worked across OEMs, suppliers, industry associations, startups, government, and education. Few people have experienced and influenced as many facets of our industry as he did. In every role, he left organizations better than he found them and earned the respect of colleagues throughout the automotive community.

Neil was a remarkable leader and an even better person. He combined knowledge, humility, and a passion for helping others succeed. His impact on our industry will be felt for years to come, and those of us who knew him are better for having had the opportunity to work with him and call him a friend."
