My heart is not just broken it is shattered. Donnie was the best thing to ever come into my life. He was literally my soul mate. Was our marriage perfect? Hell no. But it became perfect. We grew, we learned, we respected, we loved. I’ve never met a man who gave as freely as him. Whether it be advice, money, food, somewhere to stay, knowledge, laughter, car work, a job, love. He loved hard and forgave easily. He never met a stranger. He asked me once why our grandson talked so much. I just laughed and said he comes by it naturally. He was the strongest man I have ever known. He fought so hard all the way to the end. He never gave up, his poor little body just couldn’t take any more. We often talked about how different we would do things if we could go back. If only 😔. His treatments were doing good. If he hadn’t had the set backs caused by the medical treatments I believe he would still be here. If it helps anyone to know there are other alternatives. I still am overwhelmed by the many donations that helped get the help he needed. I’m lost. I’m sad, not only for myself but for my family and the many friends who don’t get to see him anymore on this side. I can just imagine the glorious reunion he was welcomed into. Please keep myself and my family in your prayers as we try to navigate this life without the most important man in our lives. Donnie did not want a funeral or a celebration of life and I promised him I would respect his wishes. I would love if anyone would like to share a favorite story, picture, video, anything that reminds you of Donnie. Don’t forget to tag me. I miss him so much and I will love him Forever & then some! 😢💔😇

Donnie update: He was in the hospital again last week. This time he was having trouble breathing and his stomach was very swollen. He was retaining so much fluid they had to drain him three times for a total of 7 liters removed. He also had a little bit of pneumonia. He is set up for weekly visits to be drained if needed which will save us trips to the ER. They are putting a hold on the vitamin c infusions until the fluid situation is better. This week they started a new medication that attacks cancer cells and might give him more energy. We are still working hard at trying to put some weight on him. Today he will be getting a PET scan. This will show if the cancer has spread, improved, or the same. Please pray we get some good news! Once again thank you all for your support and all those prayers. Kick ass Donnie Jay! Love him Forever and then some ❤️

Donnie update: He got to go home Monday. Thank goodness the diarrhea has stopped. Hopefully the strong antibiotic he got in the hospital & the one he will take at home for 9 days will keep it that way. They said with the way his liver is he will probably fluctuate between bleeding & clotting until we get some improvements there. He starts back on his infusions Tuesday so praying we can kick it into full gear & kick some more ass. His big problem now is trying to put on weight. If anyone has suggestions on super high calorie food in small portions please let me know. Once again thank you so very much for your continued prayers and support! Love you Donnie Jay, Forever & then some ❤️

Donnie update: I took him to the hospital on Tuesday with diarrhea and weakness again. Just as we suspected the c diff was back 😔. So he was admitted and put on antibiotics. They said his entire colon is infected. Hopefully this different antibiotic will do the job. At least we were able to stay in Festus. Please pray this treatment is successful and the man can gain some weight. We also need the bleeding to stop which should happen when the diarrhea stops. On a brighter note: during his last stay in the hospital when I asked his new urologist how it looked in his bladder when he did the scope he told me he saw no tumor or sign of cancer in his bladder. Thank you God! Now I am praying hard for good news with his liver, it is still full of tumors. I guess one body part at a time. Please continue those much appreciated prayers while Donnie continues to kick ass! Love him Forever and then some ❤️

Donnie is out of surgery. I haven’t seen him yet but the doctor said he did good. He said the stents get crusty and rub the bladder plus he gets inflammation from his past radiation. He did cauterize a couple spots. They will continue the flushing overnight and remove the catheter in the morning. Hopefully he can p*e okay and get to go home. Thank you all for your prayers and your continued support. Way to kick ass Donnie Jay! Love you Forever and then some ❤️

Donnie is in surgery now. They are going to hopefully figure out what is going on and replace his stents. Prayers are appreciated. Kick ass Donnie! Love him ❤️

Donnie update: Well he’s back in the hospital again. This time he has many blood clots in his bladder. It got to where he couldn’t urinate. They have been flushing his bladder through a catheter all night and day. It’s finally clearing up. He will get a scope tomorrow to try to find what is causing this and hopefully fix it. He did have to have another blood transfusion. He was doing good before this. His re**al bleeding had stopped and the biopsy came back okay. Now if he could just catch a break and put on some weight he’ll be in good shape. Keep those prayers coming as they are so appreciated! I will update soon. Keep kicking ass Donnie! I love you Forever and then some ❤️

Donnie update: Right before his benefit he started swelling from his waist down. Went to the hospital and they ran tests and gave him diuretics. They couldn’t find a cause so they said it must be from his cancer. Those of you who went to the benefit must have noticed how tired he looked. He came straight there from the hospital. They also found blood clots in both legs. He had a full week of doctor visits. So he was doing good at home with his diuretics and then he started having re**al bleeding. It kept getting worse so now he is back in the hospital. They said his colon is full of ulcers caused by c diff. They have him on mega antibiotics hoping once that is cleared up the bleeding will stop. They also did a biopsy to make sure nothing else was going on (please pray for good results). He is getting a second blood transfusion. Other than that he’s been doing good with his alternative treatments and can’t wait to get back to them. Please continue to pray for him as he continues to jump these hurdles and keeps kicking ass! Love you Donnie Jay, forever and then some ❤️

I am shouting out a huge thank you to everyone for making Donnie’s benefit a huge success! We expected a lot of people but nowhere near the amount that showed up. Our friends and family really know how to support! Special thanks to my beautiful daughter Trisha Jane for going door to door, emailing, and calling hundreds asking for donations and then hauling me around picking them up. Huge shout out to my girls Abby & Jodi, Brittany Middleton, Sherry Harned, Rhonda Kitchell Boyer, Sarah Shoopman, and Amanda Johnson from loading & unloading stuff, organizing, selling tickets, and serving food - I could not have done it without you! Monster respect for the cooks Ken Boyer, Toby Love & Bill Crow (also supplied so much food), cook in training JJ- I didn’t have time to eat but I heard it was delicious. Helen Dickey your Catfish Kettle coleslaw and chicken was a hit as always. Peyton Burton thanks for picking it up. Just don’t know what to say about our DJ Ron - he is the sweetest, kindest man I have ever met. Jimmy Ruma thank you for picking Donnie up & bringing him there (hope you didn’t scare him too bad). Greg Harned and Danny Boyer for setting up tables and getting the hall ready. Thanks to everyone who gave baskets, items, donations. James Byrd & Joshua H Pullen you guys giving with your heart touches my heart. Amvets for the use of the hall. I’m sure I am forgetting someone and I apologize.
