* Hidden headlights: One of the Cougar’s most recognizable features, giving it a sleek, aggressive appearance.
* Sequential turn signals: Those iconic rear lights flash in sequence, a feature that was way ahead of its time.
* Luxury meets muscle: The XR-7 was the upscale Cougar, featuring premium interior appointments, woodgrain accents, and sporty instrumentation.
* Serious V8 power: The 1969 Cougar lineup offered engines ranging from the 351 V8 all the way up to the legendary 428 Cobra Jet.
* A true American classic: The Cougar shared its roots with the Ford Mustang but offered its own distinctive styling, longer wheelbase, and luxury-focused personality.
