Tips on filling out our Cam Recommendation forms at jonescams.com.

1: If you don't know the Cam Journal size, Lifter diameter, or Rocker Ratio, but you know they are stock, just put "Stock" or "OEM".

2: If you don't have Flow date on the heads, just type in the Comments Box, what heads you have, and if what work has been done to them (untouched, gasket matched, bowl work, etc). We have a massive database base with flow data for most heads, and different stages of porting.

3: Where it asks for Cam Type, put the type of cam you are wanting(Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Mechanical Flat Tappet, Hydraulic Roller, Mechanical Roller, etc), not what you have currently.

4: Max HP RPM, is the RPM you want to make peak HP at, not how much power you want to make.

5: Be honest about your goals. We can only design our cams, based on the info you give us. If you put down a Max RPM of 9,000, and you are actually going to be using it for towing a trailer at 2,100 RPM, you are not going to be happy with our recommendation.

Why we don't put our name or part numbers on our cams.
Since the 90's, we only put the invoice number on our cams, to protect our customers.
With the majority of our customers being professional race engine builders, we know how important it is, to keep their competitors from finding out what they're running. We've seen it all over the years. Competitors offering a huge deal to winning racers to rebuild their engines, just to get a look at what's inside. Even paying the UPS driver to take pictures of the packing slips on deliveries to rival engine builders. At first, some engine builders would grind the numbers off the back of the cams, but then when the engine came back in for a rebuild, they would forget what the cam was. That's why we only put the invoice number.
If someone calls looking for specs on a cam, we ask them for the invoice number. Then we ask them their name. If their name and phone number doesn't match the invoice, we don't give them any info, and we call the engine builder on the invoice to let him know someone was wanting info on his cam.
At JONES CAM DESIGNS we know you work hard to gain an edge on the competition, and we work just as hard to protect it.

We've got some new part #'s and some upgrades to our line of "HARDKORE" tool steel cam cores.

We've just added 2 options for the LT1-Gen5 with LS bolt pattern.
We've also upgraded all of our SBC and BBC options with the "Everwear" gear, so you no longer need a special distributor gear.

Our "HARDKORE" tool steel cores are thru-hardened, so you never have to worry about the hardness depth, cam flex, or torsional stress.
