Break in runs are over! Here’s a lower idle and rev Video of the Newly Rebuilt Late 60’s Ford 302 engine about 10 minutes into a 25 minute run! With blacked out Ford Racing Valve Covers and Air Cleaner!

Video Notes:
- Engine RPMs 850-900
- Water temp stable around 185-195 degrees
- Oil Psi stable around 55 psi
- Fuel Psi stable around 8 psi

- Edelbrock 2121 Performer 289 aluminum intake manifold

Soon closing the chapter on a Ford 302 build, it only took going through two not so good blocks, finding the proper valve springs because the ones that came with the heads we are gonna use wouldn’t work, and currently working on modifying an oil pan because it interfered with oil pump…complications happen and are frustrating but we press on because we’ve almost reached the end on this one! this engine will sport 1970 351w heads with some hand porting work, aluminum Edelbrock Performer 289 2121 intake manifold and a Summit Racing cam with .471/.471 lift among some other upgrades from stock

Alright folks here it is going, 1976 Ford F250 sporting a new heart, mild Ford FE 390 engine build with:
- Holley 600 CFM street warrior carburetor (reused from customer’s original engine because it was only about a year old, an Edelbrock 1406 was used on run stand)
- C7TE-A Ford 390/427 marine heads (low riser ports) with stock size valves
- Edelbrock Performer 390 2105 aluminum intake manifold
- Edelbrock Performer Plus 2106 Hyd. Flat Tappet Cam & Lifters .460/.480 valve lift
- Edelbrock 7808 timing chain and gear set
- Sealed power hypereutic aluminum pistons ft. 9:1 Compression Ratio
- Melling M57HV High Volume Oil Pump
- March Performance High Volume Water Pump
- Jegs Ford FE headers for 2wd trucks
- Dual exhaust system by ho**er headers and ho**er headers turbo mufflers

A valve adjustment was done on the run stand and even after this video of being in the truck 👍🏻

For this April 2026 Ford FE 390 build, this was one of the final runs on the run stand after break in was completed at idle speed, this video was taken probably more than 20 minutes into a 25 minute run at idle so everything was definitely warmed up, water temp stable at 180 degrees and I’m sure the smart guys will question the low psi at idle but do remember it IS AT IDLE after being warmed up, and while it only idles at 10-15 psi, when u give her the RPMs it takes off to 40-50 psi or more, will give more specs in final video of it in the truck cause we took it all the way to the vehicle it will live in this time!

Highlighting with another post the November 2025 finished build for a 3 time repeat customer, the polished pulleys and chrome Ford Racing valve covers and air cleaner look great! I also forgot to mention the rebuilt 65 Ford 4 speed toploader manual transmission, tag # HEH-P which was originally 25 spline output shaft but was upgraded to 28 spline output, it was completely gone through with a new 2nd and 3rd gear and new synchronizers, seals, bearings/needle bearings all the way around, 4 speed has nice cast blast finish and came with alumni-blast painted aluminum 4-speed 289 bellhousing
