Mom and Dad, your teen watches the way you drive.
When we're behind the wheel, it's easy to fall into habits without even realizing it. The challenge is that new drivers are paying attention, and they often learn as much from what we do as what we say.
I see as many adults driving with their eyes down as I do teens. For your child's sake, put the phone away while driving. The same goes for speeding, eating behind the wheel, tailgating, and aggressive driving.
The good news? Small changes can make a big difference.
As with so many things in life, you are their role model. They're always watching.
Raising a safe driver is a team effort. For more tips and practical guidance, take a look at my book, Who’s Ready to Drive?: Ten Tips on Driver Education for Teens and Parents ➡️
