From the Army to an award-winning business!

Angela Howald’s entrepreneurship journey is inspiring! Howald settled in Huntsville, Alabama with her family after serving in the U.S. Army. With her military and federal government contracting experience, she launched AcqCentric eight years ago. The business provides defense industry clients services related to missile and radar systems engineering, program management, cyber security, operations, and more.

With help from the 8(a) Business Development program, her local Women’s Business Center (The Catalyst Center for Business & Entrepreneurship), and the nearby Procurement and Technical Assistance Center (UAH SBDC PTAC Small Business Development Center), Howald was able to tap into government contracting opportunities and grow her business.

The business was started on a dining room table and now operates in a research park facility. Last week, Howald was named Alabama Women-Owned Small Business of the Year!
