Before the weekend — is there a warning light, weird noise, or dashboard message you've been putting off? Most of what shows up on a Friday can be diagnosed same-day if you catch us early enough.

Walk-ins welcome, or call ahead to schedule a specific time.

Hurricane Isaias is expected to move north through Alabama this weekend, and we could see some of its effects here in North Alabama.

Heavy rain, gusty winds and localized flooding are possible Saturday. If you have to travel, give yourself extra time, watch for standing water and downed trees, and never drive through flooded roads.
We’re praying for everyone in the storm’s path and hoping for limited damage and no injuries. 🙏

Has your car ever actually left you stranded? Tell us the story — we've probably heard (and fixed) a version of it.

🔋 Dead battery at the worst possible moment
🔧 Wouldn't start, no explanation
❄️ Something froze that shouldn't have
😅 A mystery we still don't fully understand

Drop it below — bonus points if it happened on a first date or a job interview.

🔴 SERVICE SPOTLIGHT: Battery Testing & Replacement

Cold weather is coming, and it's the #1 reason for dead-battery calls we get every winter. Most of those batteries showed warning signs weeks before they actually died — slow crank, dimming headlights at idle — but nobody caught it in time.

✅ Free load testing (measures actual capacity, not just voltage)
✅ ACDelco battery replacement, same-day in most cases
✅ 24-month/unlimited-mile nationwide warranty

Getting tested now, before the first hard freeze, means you're not stuck troubleshooting a dead car on a 30° morning.

A customer came in last week describing their brakes as 'squeaking a little.' We put it on the lift and found the rotors already scored — grooves cut into the metal from metal-on-metal contact.

Here's the cost difference that matters: a brake pad replacement alone typically runs $150-300. Once you're grinding on scored rotors, you're now looking at $400-700+ because the rotors need resurfacing or full replacement too.

The warning signs that precede this: squealing or grinding noise, vibration when braking, the car pulling to one side, or a brake warning light. Don't wait through them.

Here's what 50 years in one location buys you that a chain shop can't replicate: we've probably worked on your specific make and model dozens of times, not just seen it in a training manual. We know which engines in which years tend to develop which issues.

That experience is why we can usually tell you within a few minutes of listening to your car whether it's a $50 fix or a $500 one.

Decatur, Morgan County, Lawrence County, Moulton — thank you for trusting that experience for five decades.

National Car Care Month is basically a reminder of what we've been doing every single day since 1975: catch small problems while they're still small.

A $30 belt replaced early beats a $600 tow bill when it snaps on the interstate. That's not a sales pitch — it's just math we've watched play out for five decades.

Have a good weekend, Decatur. We're open if something needs a look before Monday.

🍂 It's National Car Care Month, so here's the real fall checklist — not the generic version, the one that actually matters in North Alabama:

✅ Battery load test (summer heat already weakened it, cold will finish the job)
✅ Tire tread depth & pressure (drops ~1 PSI per 10°F)
✅ Wiper blades (before the rainy stretch, not during)
✅ Coolant level & condition
✅ Brake pad thickness
✅ Cabin air filter (ragweed season is here)

We can run through this entire list in one visit, usually under an hour. Bring it in and we'll tell you exactly what's fine and what needs attention.
