When it comes to the alignment on your trucks, “close enough” can cost you a lot of money. Where do you think the energy needed to scrub that rubber off your tires comes from? Right out of your fuel tank. If you are experiencing irregular tire wear due to misalignment, fuel economy is suffering too. Did your last Alignment Guy Correct your Camber ? Ask him! 99% of the time they just do a Toe end Adjustment because that is all the tools they have to work with. Google: Semi truck alignment done right.
Cold-Bending the Axle (The True "Adjustment")If the suspension parts are perfectly tight but the camber is still out of spec (which can even happen on brand-new axles straight from the factory), the only way to physically adjust it is by bending the solid steel axle beam.How it works: Specialty alignment shops use heavy-duty hydraulic correction systems (such as Bee Line). They hook massive steel beams and hydraulic rams (capable of exerting over 100+ tons of force) directly to the axle while it is still on the truck.
