It’s been a productive week at KMC. With the Labor Day weekend upon us, we hope everyone has a cracking three-day holiday.

And if you happen to have a classic sitting in the garage… well, it would be rude not to take it for a drive.

The amount of notes, measurements, photographs, and details taken when a car comes into the shop is remarkable.

Add to that decades of hands-on experience, and you begin to understand what goes into properly restoring and maintaining an uncommon vintage vehicle.

It’s not just about fixing what’s in front of you. It’s about understanding how it was built, how it was meant to work, and getting the details right.

Today at Kip Motor Company, a few members of the team take a moment to talk about what they’re working on in the shop.

It’s been a good week at KMC. Lots of progress. Lots of good work. Lots of happy customers. And apparently, absolutely no interest in looking at the camera.

Today was a special day as one of our summer interns, Elias, was presented with the Art Zeisk Memorial Award Scholarship by the Texas MG Register.

Elias is a student in the McPherson College Automotive Restoration Program, and we're grateful to have him spending the summer with us at Kip Motor Company. Over the years, we've been proud to welcome several McPherson interns and alumni to our team, and they've helped carry the craft of restoration forward with skill and dedication.

A sincere thank-you to the Texas MG Register and everyone who supports the next generation of automotive restoration technicians. Investing in young craftspeople helps ensure these skills and the history they preserve continue for years to come.

There was a lot going on this week at KMC.

Every project is an opportunity to pass on the craft. As the engine for this 1959 Morgan Plus 4 goes back together, carefully sourced, cleaned, and machined components are taking their proper place. A small photo collection from the assembly bench, where experience is shared, skills are handed down, and craftsmanship carries on.

Chief Carchaeologist Kip and Journeyman Curren are on the case!
While out on a test drive with this 1967 Pontiac GTO, our team carefully gathered the evidence. The verdict? The alignment was off, and the carburetor still needed some fine-tuning to unlock everything this classic muscle car has to offer.

At KMC, we investigate, diagnose, and uncover the story behind every rattle, vibration, and hesitation. Sometimes the best diagnostic tool is years of experience... and yes, we still throw the Haynes manuals at them (figuratively, of course 😉).

Whether it's a rare British classic, an uncommon American icon, or something in between, we're always ready to crack the case.

After countless hours of work, problem-solving, and teamwork, the KMC crew celebrated a big moment — the first test drive of this uncommon Willys Jeep.

This Willys is one step closer to its next adventure, and we couldn’t be happier to see it moving under its own power again.

The journey isn’t finished yet, but today was worth celebrating.
