Why we bet on polysilazane chemistry
The American Coatings Association just spotlighted why polysilazanes are becoming the binder of choice for next-gen surface protection β and it lines up with everything we've seen developing SILAZANE50.
A few highlights from the piece:
π₯ Heat resistance β polysilazane coatings stay stable up to 1000Β°C, far outperforming conventional silicone resins that break down well before that.
π Hardness β cured polysilazane films can reach pencil hardness near that of glass, with strong resistance to scratching and abrasion.
π§οΈ Weathering & corrosion β passes rigorous salt-spray, UV, and condensation testing without cracking, blistering, or rust.
π¨ Anti-graffiti / easy-clean β its low surface energy repels ink and grime so effectively that markers wipe off with just a dry cloth.
This is exactly why we moved beyond SiOβ-based formulas β the Si-N backbone in polysilazane simply gives a tougher, longer-lasting bond to the surface.
