A better late than never Bonneville report on our Triumph T150 Production Pushrod racer. We were back at Bonneville for the first time in over ten years. Speedweek in August is a gearheads dream. The cars, the bikes and the people make it one of the best events in motor racing each year. The P-PP 750 record was 127.301 mph. We did our best to go fast but left Speedweek with the best run of 127.111 mph just 2/10ths off the record. The changing conditions and hot weather made tuning quite the challenge. We were sure the bike would go fast so the team returned for the SCTA World Finals in September. Cooler weather but with the rain a few days before the meet the salt conditions would be in question but it turned out to be better than Speedweek. We made a few passes at 125mph but never over the record. A gearing change back to the same as when we ran at Speedweek put us over the record at 128.515 mph and qualified for a record return run. The temperature dropped 10 degrees during our time waiting to make our return run which made us second guess the jetting but we stayed with the current set up. On the return run Ryan gave it his best and came through with a 132.799 mph giving Big D the new record of 130.657 mph.
