There is a softening in modern supercar values.
Overproduction plays a role. But it is not the main reason.
The deeper issue is intent.
Most modern supercars are optimized for numbers.
Automation. Forced induction. Hybridization. Weight traded for complexity.
They are fast. Undeniably so.
They are also increasingly filtered.
That matters more than people want to admit.
Engagement is being engineered out.
Steering feel. Throttle connection. Mechanical feedback.
Replaced with software, torque fill, and safety nets.
Now look at the Honda S2000.
→ Light.
→ Naturally aspirated.
→ Manual.
→ High redline.
→ No intermediaries between driver and machine.
Well cared for, low mileage examples are appreciating, not because they are rare exotics, but because the formula no longer exists.
This is not nostalgia.
It is market correction.
Cars built around involvement age better than cars built around acceleration graphs.
The fastest car is easy to build now.
The engaging one is not.
