Inspection Report – Coolant Loss / EGR System Issue
After diagnosis, we found that the EGR cooler on the DD15 engine was internally clogged. The restriction caused coolant to mix with soot inside the system.
This condition led to internal coolant consumption. The coolant reservoir was empty after approximately 700 miles. When performing a cooling system pressure test, no external leaks were found, confirming the leak is internal.
The failed EGR cooler allowed coolant to enter the exhaust system, which also affected the DPF.
Repair recommendation: • Replace EGR cooler
• Inspect and service/clean DPF
• Flush cooling system
• Refill coolant and retest system
