2018 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. VR Stage 2+ Naturally Aspirated A8. 516 RWHP / 474 RWTQ, up from 395 RWHP / 323 RWTQ at the baseline, a gain of 121 horsepower and 151 lb-ft on a pump-gas street car with no boost.

The build centers on a Vengeance Racing Stage 2 camshaft with 38% fuel lobe upgrade, BTR dual valve springs with titanium retainers, Johnson 2110R drop-in lifters, and hardened pushrods. The top end received an MSD Atomic AirForce Gen-V intake manifold paired with a Nick Williams 103mm throttle body. Out back, American Racing 1-7/8" long-tube headers with cats move the spent gases. Supporting the rotating assembly: a Katech high-capacity Gen V dry sump oil pump, ATI Super Damper balancer, and a full timing chain service. The Mighty Mouse catch can keeps the intake tract clean, and the tune was dialed in here at VR.

This is what a properly built naturally aspirated LT1 looks like when every component is selected and installed with intention.

We threw a little $100 dyno challenge into the mix while baselining our brand new C8 Grand Sport, closest guess takes the cash.

Ron called 466 WHP and the Grand Sport laid down 467 WHP

Now that we know exactly where we’re starting, it’s time to get to work.

Heads. Cam. Full bolt-ons. Twin turbos.
This thing isn’t staying stock for long.

The baseline is officially in. Now let’s see what this platform can really do.
