Customer: you’re too expensive, this other shop labor rate is $100/hr.
Me: but here you are because you spent so much money with said shop and truck still isn’t right. And after reviewing their invoice, they did charge you $100/hr on labor but they doubled the labor hours so you actually paid $200/hr AND parts were sold to you way above retail and are cheap after market and not OEM as the invoice states.
Moral of the story:
Shops can sugar coat things and tell you what you want to hear or we can be honest about what labor actually is. DON’T be fooled.
Also it’s not labor rate that’s causing repairs to be so expensive these days, it’s the cost of parts.
