The rescue vehicle at the center of Ford’s "Help Is On The Way" initiative was built by Public Safety Direct, in partnership with Darley.

Every detail is purpose-driven: resilient power, advanced communications, and layouts built for remote operations, ensuring access to critical data even when traditional networks aren’t available.

This project is just the beginning. PSD and Darley are delivering additional Bronco-based response platforms to first responders nationwide, expanding the Bronco’s role in rescue, command, and disaster response.

Great to see Ford’s “Answer the Call” program highlighted by Ford Authority, showcasing a national initiative with NASAR to donate three specially equipped Bronco Badlands vehicles to volunteer search and rescue teams operating in extreme and remote environments. Each Bronco is purpose-built for real-world rescue work, and Public Safety Direct is proud to play a key role in transforming these vehicles from capable off-road platforms into fully mission-ready rescue assets. Working alongside W.S. Darley & Co. and supported by Microsoft cloud and connectivity solutions, PSD integrates satellite communications, drone technology, lighting, winches, and recovery systems designed specifically for volunteer responders who routinely operate with limited resources. Each Bronco is professionally upfitted by Public Safety Direct alongside W.S. Darley & Co., with Microsoft cloud and connectivity solutions supporting communications and data access in remote environments. Satellite internet, drone integration, rescue lighting, winches, and recovery systems all come together to turn a capable platform into a true life-saving asset.

Ford and NASAR will donate five custom Broncos to underfunded U.S. rescue organizations. Applications for three of the vehicles are open through April 30 via NASAR’s official website.
