⚠️ LAKE NORMAN BOATERS, PLEASE USE CAUTION! ⚠️
TowBoatUS Lake Norman wants to remind our local boating community to stay alert following the recent heavy rainfall across our region.
🌧️ 4–7 inches of rain fell in the Catawba River headwaters, resulting in increased river flows and elevated lake levels. Water levels are expected to continue rising, potentially causing flooding along shorelines, docks, boat access areas, campgrounds, and residential properties.
🚨 Important Safety Reminders:
Watch for rising water levels and changing conditions.
Be cautious around docks, shorelines, and boat access areas.
Keep an eye on your vessel and secure it appropriately as water levels rise.
Watch for floating debris and other hazards while underway.
Follow guidance from local officials and emergency management.
📍 Areas under the advisory: South Central Alexander County, North Central Catawba County, and West Central Iredell County.
The advisory is in effect until 2:00 PM Monday, October 12.
