This years burnout contest brought 3 contestants, who by the looks of it, had a blast!

We had 2 contestants complete a 30 second burnout leaving it up to the crowd to decide who won. It was clear by the cheering that Luke Otten from Erie High School was the winner for our 2024 burnout contest!!

Congratulations, Luke!

We'd like to thank our friends John Hulbert and James Luckett with the Beat the HEAT Organization for always being a part of our Battle of the High Schools program, as well as our Midnight Mayhem events.

Beat the Heat was founded in 1992 by First Responders to help combat the problem of street racing and drunk driving. Today their organization has added distracted driving, community relations, and youth education to it's mission. They are a non-profit organization comprised of Police Officers and Firefighters who conduct educational programs using marked emergency vehicle drag cars to gain the interest of the public. Heat Members develop programs and activities to serve their individual communities using the goals of Beat the Heat as a guide.

Their goals include:
1. To EDUCATE the young people of our communities about the problems of illegal drug and alcohol use and the horrors of impaired and distracted driving.
2. To ENCOURAGE young people to stay in school and be an achiever in life.
3. To PROMOTE a better UNDERSTANDING between Police and the Communities the serve.
4. To EDUCATE the General Public about the sport of drag racing, and encourage everyone to race on the dragstrip, NOT ON THE STREET.

We highly recommend stopping by their pit and having a conversation with John and James about the program, and of course check out theirs cars!!

Thank you again for everything you guys do for the youth in our communities!

Hey Racers!!

We understand that some of you are very new to the sport, and may be feeling a little overwhelmed about what to expect on the day of the event! Don't worry, we thought that might be the case so we've put together a program called Cordova College.

Cordova College gives new racers the opportunity to learn what to expect throughout the whole experience. From buying a tech card, to exiting the track safely, and everything in between. Let our gate staff know you are racing with Cordova College to receive the proper tech card and entry fee.

'Classes' will be held on Saturday, May 11th, Saturday May 18th, Sunday May 19th, and Friday May 24th approximately 1 hour before track is hot. Classes will start in the seating area of our cafe, and then you will be given a quick tour of the starting line so you can visually see what you learned in the classroom.

We have partnered with local racers to be your instructors. They got into the sport at a young age just like you and learned and grew to the successful racers they are today! Thank you Pete McGlynn, Brad Weets, and Jace Deering for sharing your vast knowledge of the sport with us.

Battle of the High Schools will be the championship for our Cordova College students! Take your knowledge and put it to the test in this bracket style event!
