Alright car guys… anybody know what this setup is? 👀
Here’s a little hint — no Hydroboost and no electric vacuum pump.
This is an electric brake booster conversion, and it’s becoming one of our favorite options for certain restomod builds.
Why run this setup?
🔧 No engine vacuum required — perfect for big cams that don’t make enough vacuum for a traditional booster.
🔧 No hydraulic pressure from the power steering system like Hydroboost.
🔧 No separate vacuum pump running just to keep the brakes assisted.
🔧 Compact, clean installation that can really help when engine-bay space is tight.
🔧 Consistent brake assist whether the engine is idling, making low vacuum, or not running.
For the right restomod, this gives us another way to get modern power-brake performance without depending on engine vacuum or the power-steering system.
We’re going to be installing this one at Overdrive Customs. 😎
