I don’t always work on old cars!
Had to reflow the joints on the computer for my Toyota. The RAV4 was having immobilizer issues. Connectivity was an issue and the wiring seems to be OK. In case you’re wondering and Dont already know, reflow means to basically add flux then melt the solder on the board and then let it cool. By doing this essentially your re-soldering everything on the board that you melt the solder on.
Fortunately, I have a workstation for doing this kind of thing. And before you think that it’s super tedious to resolder every connection on the board, keep in mind that especially with the chips it’s all done with the heat gun. A very small specialized heat gun but a heat gun nonetheless. I’ve seen similar work done to motherboards in Personal Computers put into a small convection oven. Don’t know that I would try that, but I’ve seen it done.
So far the car has been running great ever since the reflow.

Took Red to the Fireman’s Steak Feed and Car Show in Coquille Oregon. Great turnout. My daughter asked for pics of purple cars. So you g*t a pic of Red and some purple cars. There’s a truck here that’s not really purple but to my eye not really blue either. I’m calling it blurple. What do you think???
