Best RV Black/Grey tank treatment: Pinesol/Calgon mix.
The Pinesol is deodorizer and the Calgon helps to slick the surfaces in the tank to minimize residue.

Remember your holding tanks are exactly that, a holding tank. It's not a septic tank. Using treatments that break down f***l matter is only creating a mudslide inside your tank and will lead to incomplete tank dumping and leftover residue.

Mixture:
In a quart (or 40oz) bottle; mix 10oz of PINE-SOL®, 2oz of Calgon Ageless Bath Pearls and fill the rest with water. GENTLY agitate before use and add about 1 cup to each empty holding tank.

Bulk mixture:
Mix eight ounces of Calgon Ageless Bath Pearls and 40 ounces of PINE-SOL® in a one-gallon jug. Fill the jug with water. GENTLY agitate and allow any foam to settle down. Use four to eight ounces (as directed) in each tank.

Price comparison:
Pinesol - $.25/oz – $2.50/mix
Calgon - $.52/oz – $1.10/mix
Water + $3.60(Pines+Calg)=40oz mix=$.72/8oz treatment

Fresh water tank sanitizing: 1 cup of bleach/50 gal water. This ratio may be adjusted with the size of your tank.

For best results: disconnect your supply hose, pour the bleach into your hose and reconnect and fill the fresh water tank with the proper amount for your ratio. Let it sit for 12-24 hours. Drain and flush. This should be performed 1x/season.

For comparison: Professional RV tank cleaning typically costs between $250 and $375 for the first three tanks (one black, two gray), with additional tanks costing $65 to $125 each. Prices vary based on location, the RV's condition, and any additional services needed, such as clog removal, which may incur extra fees.
Typical pricing breakdown:
• Initial cleaning (up to 3 tanks): Expect to pay around $250 to $375 for a standard black and gray tank cleaning.
• Additional tanks: If you have more than three holding tanks, the price for each extra tank is typically between $65 and $125.
• Discounts: Some companies offer discounts for specific memberships (like FMCA) or during rallies, which can lower the price to a range of $225 to $250 for up to three tanks.
• Clog removal: Services to clear clogs are often not included in the base price and may result in an additional charge.

What to consider
• Local variations: Prices can vary significantly depending on your geographic location and the specific service provider.
• Additional fees: Be aware that travel fees may apply if you are outside the service area, and additional labor charges may be applied if the job requires more than the standard flat rate.
• Special offers: Look for special "rally prices" or discounts for members of RV clubs, as they can offer substantial savings.

FAQs

1. You MUST have full hookups in an RV park, resort or campground, as we will need to connect to the shore power pedestal, city water and sewer to do our work. No exceptions.

2. All tanks, plumbing, valves and toilet must be fully functional. We do NOT drop the underbelly, fix valves, or perform repairs on any of the tanks or related plumbing on your RV. If needed, this must be completed before cleaning day.

3. If you have a hard (PVC, etc.) sewer line, common in seasonal RV parks, we unfortunately cannot perform the tank cleaning service. This would need to be dismantled before we arrive.

4. If you have a macerator installed between the tank and the sewer, we are unable to perform the tank cleaning. We are not be able to get the jetter hose through it up into the tank.

5. If the sewer connection is under a slideout, we respectfully request that this be retracted upon our arrival, if at all possible, in order for us to perform our work more safely and much more efficiently.

6. If you are unable to be on site at the time of service, payment must be completed in advance.
