Hello everyone. I, Amanda Hunter Faulk have been on the phone all day and in contact with lots of people, groups, organizations, event planners and disaster relief experts in our area.
We, Sassy Peacock Events LLP and our fellow friends are combining our efforts, but also dividing up our expertise and buildings so that we do not get overwhelmed or overloaded in areas we have not handled before.
FIRST and foremost, we are under a ORANGE level travel advisory as of 8pm Aug 13th and are not recommending anyone to get out unless they can SAFELY use areas that are not flooded and have not been roped/blocked off. PLEASE do not move barricades or go around any areas roped off as it is unsafe.
** Road Update: Thurs Aug 13th @ 8:15pm
Veterans Memorial Road is back open, per Sheriff Zac Jones.
If you’re heading through there, go easy and watch your speed the gravel is still settling, so expect a little loose rock. Safe travels!
*** There is a rumor circulating online that city water isnt safe to drink. THIS IS FALSE. CITY WATER IS SAFE TO CONSUME ***
** Everton Regional Sewer District is asking their customers to restrict water usage wherever possible. In an effort to reduce the amount of wastewater flow going into Connersville, please limit long showers, laundry, don't let the water run if you're not using it, reduce extra flushes. Basically, be mindful of your water usage and use the minimal amount of water possible until we are past this flooding emergency.
