I am told DMV has opened up for new appointments, please make sure our lessons are scheduled so you can book the license test accordingly. We book out three weeks in advance and have many students to accommodate.

**Updated-I am hearing notification are by email, check your spam/junk email file**

We have a student that has not received a notification that her appointment was rescheduled (hopefully she will Monday), but her friends have received their notification for appointments in March so she checked the DMV website to find out her appointment was rescheduled for this next week. We suggest that you check the DMV website just in case DMV doesn’t have your correct contact information or unable to leave a message.

Please practice driving in the rain and remember when your windshield wipers get turned on so should your lights. Please take off automatic and have your students learn to do this so they are ready for their test in case it is raining on their test day.

DMV just updated their site. I am heartbroken for our students.

Unfortunately I am getting calls today from parents with students that their drivers license appointments next week 1/11-1/15 have been cancelled. Please check the phone used to schedule drivers test for DMV updates. If it is your students phone that was used to schedule the appointment, please have them make sure their VM is working (not full) and set up so DMV can leave a message.

Please see below, again please do NOT cancel your current appointment. The appointment needs to be in the DMV system so they can reschedule. Please ensure the phone that is assigned to the license test appointment has a working VM (I can’t tell you how many times I call students back and they have not set up their voicemail) and have a name on the voicemail so DMV knows they are calling the correct number. We will continue with the needed lessons to ensure students have their certificates and ready for their new appointment. Unfortunately in the Spring when this happened some students received only 48 hour notice of the reschedule so please check VM daily. Please call us with any questions.

Please see the DMV update. We are continuing with lessons (we have been deemed essential) to ensure students have their certificate of completion and are ready for when DMV reschedules the license test. Do NOT cancel your DMV appointment, the pending appointment is the only way DMV can find the cancelled appointment to reschedule.

DMV is still allowing permit tests, see post below for details.

For students that have not yet been able to schedule your license test, please call us before scheduling your new license test to ensure we have all our appointments scheduled so you can schedule the test accordingly.

Update on DMV as of today (changes daily). DMV has cancelled all behind the wheel testing from 12/14-12/28 (14 days), but I can’t get an answer if 12/28 appointments have been cancelled. Please KEEP your appointment (do not cancel) as this is the only way they can find the appointment to reschedule. We are continuing with last lessons so we can provide certificate of completion, as DMV might only give a 48 hour notice of the new license test and we book out and will not have availability to do the last lesson within that short notice.

I am told they are not scheduling new license test appointments and I will do my best to update when they are starting to take new appointments.

For students needing their permit, DMV is still allowing walk in permit tests after you make an account on the DMV website (new license or real ID), upload all the required documents and receive a confirmation number. The confirmation number is your appointment confirmation.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles is putting a hold on behind-the-wheel driving tests as the state grapples with another spike in COVID-19 cases.
